Customer Reviews about Piedmont Endocrinology

  • Dr. Donepudi is an amazing doctor. I am glad to have him oversee my care with hypothyroidism. Having been diagnosed at only 31 years old, I was a bit overwhelmed with the thought of a lifetime of taking medication. He has always been patient, explaining my condition in very concrete terms, and most recently has tried to support me in appealing an insurance denial with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina after they refused to pay for a biopsy to be read by a pathologist. I highly recommend Dr. Donepudi and fully trust his medical decisions.

WORST UNCARING DOCTORS AND UNCARING STAFF - Yes, I have missed some appointments but I have had a LOT going on - was in the hospital for a week with two different surgeries performed. I have also been a few minutes late for an appointment and been turned away only to wait months for another appointment. I don't believe these doctors care very much about their patients, or maybe they just discriminate against some patients because of their age or gender. I just know, I felt that I needed to see my endocrinologist and his office informed my primary care doctor that the doctor did not feel like he needed to see me. Where I had been diagnosed with Graves Disease and Hyperthyroidism, he told my doctor's office I did not have those conditions and he did not feel the need to see me. He didn't even bother to speak with me to find out what my current issues are. My primary care office issued me a referral to Asheville Endocrinology and I will be going there from now on. My blood level for T4 is borderline low and I have issues with my metabolism - my body temperature is NOT being regulated correctly as my body temperature is hot ALL of the time, but I do not have a temperature. I have ZERO energy levels and my TsH and T4 levels fluctuate, sometimes normal, sometimes NOT normal. But these doctors don't CARE about me as a patient. For those of you who have had a good experience with them, I am glad for you. For those of you who have written about your bad experiences with this group, I am right there on the same page with you!! As a patient and from a patient's perspective, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this group!!!! The days of CARING doctors who genuinely want to help their patients is gone! Now, we are cattle to be herded in and herded out and NEVER followed up!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND this group!!!! I plan to try to find out how to file a formal complaint against this group.

I was referred to the Office. I called asking about the Dr. standard protocol for my issues and the nurse rudely kept repeating she would not answer any medical questions without me being a patient. I said, mam I am only asking what was typical for the Dr. when managing testosterone replacement therapy. She said, I cannot answer any medical questions. I asked if they had my chart and she continued having a snappy/rude tone and said you are not a patient here so we have no records. My previous Dr said they were sending them almost 2 weeks ago. She said we don’t have any of your records. All I wanted to know was if his protocols were just Test shots with no other hormone management such as estrogen.. I wanted a Dr that would be interested in managing the whole picture not just one end of the spectrum. I don’t think that is too much to ask. I will go without and feel terrible before stepping foot in there and spending my money. Just for the record, I was speaking with Dr. Barbers nurse.
